So today, I had a 5k this morning, it was fun. I did it in 24 min and some odd seconds.. I just noticed the minutes and I forgot to stop my watch until much later...dang it. Anyways, I was really proud of myself for that time. I ran the same race last year, did it in just under 31 min. So I have improved quite a bit over the year. Hooray! It makes me excited for more races this summer. Anyways, then it was home, shower, costco and then off to Ogden for a family reunion, which was really fun. They had games for the kids and great playground that James and Harrison quite enjoyed. And then we headed home, but stopped at Ikea first and got the black dresser that goes with our bed. It looks amazing. Ben set it up just now. And then once we got home home from Ikea, I made sandwiches, packed up snacks and went up the canyon. We picked Jay up first and then hiked Stewart falls. That was a great hike. I carried at least one of the kids most of the time. I was really proud of myself for that because it wasn't even that hard for me. I felt tough. I guess all the running and training all winter is finally paying off.
In fact the other morning I decided that the boys and I needed to go up the canyon so we did, and we hiked up to first falls up timp. It was great. James hiked the whole by himself, and I packed Harrison. For those of you that have hiked it you know that it is actually a pretty steep little hike and so I was proud of James and I for going without stopping once. I kept thinking James was going to get tired, but he didn't. He ketp saying, "let's keep going!" and he was sure we saw several bears on our hike. It was fun. Oh and on that hike I was feeling all sorts of strong because I was packing Harrison plus our lunch, and the pack so about 40 lbs in all and I felt great the whole. I felt so strong, it was awesome.
Anyways, back to my day today, after the hike. (Which was so great! It got us so excited to go camping, we are going next weekend. ) Harrison got really excited about the waterfall. James got tired at the end and only wanted me to carry him, but that was okay, I didn't mind carrying the little guy. so then it was home, baths for the kids and then I realized that tomorrow was father's day and while I was 100% prepared for Ben's father day I had forgotten my own father...whoops. so it was off to Walmart. Man I hate that place, but love it at the same time. It is like a drug, I need it, but I hate it. sheesh. the parking lot was full!!! and it was 10:30 pm. So it was long lines and home an hour later. Ben finished the dresser while I cleaned up the house, and now he is sound asleep in bed and I am going to go join him. So, there is a summer day and why I have not been blogging so much lately, because every day has seemed to be almost as busy as this one. That is probably why the summer flies by so quickly, we are having just too much fun!

look! I found you!
You are a tough girl. I'm envious of your fitnees. It's awesome.
And sounds like James is tough too! Max only walks for about 5 minutes before he wimps out and whines to get carried. I think we're going to work on that this summer.
It was so fun to see you at Cammon's thing!!!
I agree summer is the best. I love being outside with my kidlings too.
i love being outside...but my kiddy is very white so we don't stay outside too long. maybe i just need to stay outside for a long time and let her skin get used to it...but i would hate to have a sun burnt baby.
also, saturday is THE WORST at wal mart. when both james and i worked, we always worked all day saturday so after 10:00pm was the only time we could go pick up the few things we needed for sunday dinner or whatever. and that's exactly what everyone else around this town is doing: it sucks!
Emily? Is this really you? I'm always so pleasantly surprised to see who I run into in the blogworld. :) Anyway, sounds like you're doing well. Your little family is getting so big! Have fun playing outside! (We're trying to do the same thing this summer.)

Crazy! I am glad you commented on my blog! We have to get together sometime!! Isn't it a small world about Ben and my sister in law? It's kinda funny.
Hey Em! I'd love to catch you up with what the heck I've been doing for the last 8 years (plus I'd love to hear about the last 8 years in your life, too!). Why don't we do it over email? Might be easier than blog comments. My address is lindsay23 (at) gmail (dot) com. Drop me a line and I'll be sure to tell all when I respond. :)
